chotto matte miami
The design blends Chotto Matte’s signature Tokyo urban vibe with Miami’s tropical life. The 220-seat restaurant and bar features Shou Sugi Ban wood ceilings, a highly graphic marble floor and lush, hanging gardens.
The large floating ceiling inspired by an abstracted Japanese roof known as ‘Irimoya’ delivers year-round al fresco dining, with a fully retractable roof. Imported in its entirety, a 19-tonne Sicilian lavastone boulder creates a dramatic focal point within this ‘Cenote’ cave between the sushi bar and cocktail area, while vibrant murals created by local street artists pour over interior walls.
