quo vadis
Following our acclaimed work on Barrafina, its owners Sam and Eddie Hart appointed ama to design and project manage the refurbishment of the Grade 1 listed Quo Vadis in the heart of Soho.
Their aspirations for a private members club over a fine dining British Brasserie on the ground floor were met with careful negotiations with the planners and English Heritage to ensure the constraints of the building were not allowed to compromise the high level of design and finish required.
The design celebrates the history of the building whilst adding quality in any intervention. The ground floor restaurant was restored and enhanced by decorative applications, new bespoke furniture and a lighting scheme to create the perfect conditions for dining. A new bar was inserted to add focus to operation and the art deco façade was carefully reinstated. The club required a more extensive treatment. Quality but ‘domestic’ finishes and installations were used to reinforce the home from home feel desired by the client. We designed bespoke signature items of furniture throughout to reinforce the Quo Vadis brand. Art is a strong feature throughout the restaurant and club and we worked closely with the client’s art consultant to place and maximize the impact of the artwork.
